About the Bride

During the day, I'm a copywriter in the marketing department of a medical supply company. At night, I'm the proud "bunny mama" to Alexandria, Paddington and Phoenix (oh, and Nate's fiancee). I also love reading and making things, whether it's cross-stitching, knitting or quilting.

The first thing that attracted me to Nate: His smile. When he smiles, his whole face lights up. He also has wonderful eyes. They're kind and sincere.

When I knew I wanted to marry Nate: I think it started creeping into my mind when we went to spend a weekend at the House on the Rock in Wisconsin (we're both big fans of American Gods by Neil Gaiman, part of which takes place at House on the Rock). We had been together for about six months at that point (for those of you keeping track at home, we were together for another two and half years before he proposed!). We had a wonderful time exploring the House on the Rock and staying at the nearby resort. Plus, we made it through a long car ride to get there without any bickering. If you've been on a car trip with me, you know how rare that is!

My perfect date with Nate is: I'm a homebody, so the perfect date for me is going out to dinner (I always suggest Thai food) and then coming home and watching a movie and sharing a bottle of wine (malbec is my favorite) while watching our bunnies frolic.

My vision for the wedding: I want everyone to have fun! Stuffy, formal weddings just aren't our style. That said, I also want it to be elegant. You'll see a lot of quirky touches added to pretty things.

The songs I'm banning from the wedding: I hate any song that has a dance associated with it. Sorry, "Boot Scoot Boogie." Sayonara, "Electric Slide." I just heard "Gangnam Style" for the first time yesterday and I can promise you that you won't be hearing that nonsense. Country music has been categorically banned as well. So what will you hear? I've made it my goal to get "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" played at every wedding I go to, so you'll definitely hear that (even if I'm the only one dancing!). I'm also a huge Queen fan, so be prepared to get down to "Under Pressure."

About the Groom

I am a  Licensed Clinical Social Worker, currently employed with Metropolitan Family Services. I spend most of my days helping individuals with serious mental illnesses break out of institutions so they can live happy, healthy lives in the community. When I'm not at work (and at times when I am) I'm usually thinking about Batman, Laura or White Russians (but not always in that particular order).

The first thing that attracted me to Laura: I was first attracted to her beautiful brown eyes. Oh, they're green, you say? Yeah, I'm attracted to those beautiful green eyes. I'm also very attracted to her big, huge, expansive, sexy...mind.

When I knew I wanted to marry Laura: I cannot think of any specific instance where it dawned on me. I think she just gradually wore me down, and I could not be happier or better for it! I guess it was just the realization that I was willing to work hard to be a better person (and actually grow up a little) if it meant I could spend the rest of my life with her.

My perfect date with Laura is: Pizza, booze, telly.

My vision for the wedding: Whatever she wants, as long as I get to wear my Batman costume under the tux.

The songs I'm banning from the wedding: Most country songs. We probably shouldn't have any Limp Bizkit either. I love any song that has a dance associated with it. You will absolutely hear "Boot Scoot Boogie." Hello, "Electric Slide." I just love "Gangnam Style" and I can promise you that you will be hearing that nonsense several times throughout the night.
